Neil's Notes...

  • Barna Cities - Indianapolis research report for 2017 (and 2013) has been purchased by a local church.  Questions may be directed to me, and I'll channel them appropriately and try to obtain an answer for you.  Here's how to reach me.

  • Previous Years (nationally):
    • This needs more digesting... an August 2011 Barna Report... (Neil's Note:  As I try to remember back, reading this report fairly thoroughly when it came out, I concluded that much of the 'shift' was really due to demographic changes (more hispanic, and their preference religious traits) vs. real shifts in the general population's religious traits.)  Review again, please.
    • This is an excerpt from a March 2009 Barna Report"The same questions were asked of respondents in national surveys by Barna in 1995, 2000 and 2005. The results indicate that the percentage of adults with a biblical worldview, as defined above, has remained unchanged for more than a decade. The numbers show that 7% had such a worldview in 1995, compared to 10% in 2000, 11% in 2005, and 9% now. Even among born again adults, the statistics have remained flat: 18% in 1995, 22% in 2000, 21% in 2005, and 19% today."   (Neil's Note:  As far as I could tell from their questions asked, etc. -- this 'biblical worldview' category was essentially the same as the "7% Evangelical" metric reported elsewhere.)
    • Gallup Poll (2/2013) - showing Indiana as 17th most religious state.
