Replicating Disciples...  The Basic (and simple) Value-chain of The Church

[Remember, our objective here is to (perhaps over-) simplify the basic processes of the Church... to things we all agree we need to be good at throughout the city....]

Simplistically think of a manufacturing line process... What are the basic phases of producing replicating disciples of Jesus Christ?

• Person is exposed to the gospel... through Word & deed... often by a friend, but also through churches & outreachers. 
• Person comes to Christ... through the drawing of the Holy Spirit, they trust in Christ as Lord.
• 'Discipleship 101'... Friend leads them through basic discipleship, learning key truths of God's Word.  [eg. 'Operation Timothy']
• Studying God's Word for themselves.
• Resources & Models... Available study resources (and people to help them with harder questions). .. and watch 'models' (Discipleship OJT).
• Developing prayer life.
• Assimilating him/her into the body of Christ, ie, the Family... the Church. (how?  truly-local community Church, neighborhood small groups)
• Small Groups... sharing life together & growing... optimally focused on neighborhoods... thus able to provide 'belonging', serve/outreach, evangelize, disciple other neighbors.  And since home/neighborhood-oriented, small groups also strengthen 'family' units.  Neighborhood groups would also likely have children in same schools and have friends automatically.  And because small groups are home/neighborhood focused -- and don't 'cop to' today's stereotypical American church-growth methodology re attracting 'my favorite self-serving homogenous people who 'meet my needs'... then it forces our small groups to be loving, welcoming, needs-meeters.  A much healthier model for the long-run success of the city Church as a whole.   The small group outreach model effectively trains Christ-followers to 'always be prepared' with the readiness of the gospel.  Creating the wholesome model of the biblical Church, worshipping our Creator/Savior/Lord... will either optimally present the gospel by deed & Word... and thus attract people who want that... or repulse those who do NOT want Jesus as Lord.
  • Put one's spiritual gift(s) to work in the context of small groups & the larger Church...
• Leadership & Leadership-development... Shepherded by a parish-pastor and other leaders... and who specifically do leadership development.  Remember, everyone's a 'leader' in some capacity, even if it's only leading oneself via self-control and as he/she deploys their spiritual gift in the body life.
• Special Needs?????  ...eg. Counseling?  Mentoring?
