Footnote:   Thinking through some longer-term goals, thus informing our #Harvey objectives.

  • Ultimately, to finish the Great Commission/Commandment... at least once, by 12/31/2020.
    • Love2020(.com) - This initiative among Mission America Coalition ministries aspires to do exactly that (the above-stated mission... by 12/31/2020.... through neighborhood prayer-care-share workers pervasively throughout Houston (someday soon).  One of the 35 national workgroups is called CityReaching.  Another is the Justice Workgroup which aspires to assist CityReaching workers in a city, by providing a centralized 'justice hub'.  Love2020, CityReaching, and Justice Workgroup have representatives local to Houston.  (We'll be providing links to them shortly.)
    • BlessEveryHome.com - identifying prayer-care-share workers pervasively throughout Houston metro area.
    • 40 Days of Love (.net) Campaign, annually - grassroots acts of neighborly love.  $0DaysofLove is looking for key leaders who would like to see this come to Houston.
  • 'ReadyCity' -- One long-term we should aspire toward is to collaboratively build a ReadyCity, out of ReadyChurch(es) and their ReadyChristian(s).  'Ready' for what? Ephesians 6:  "Fit your feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace."  Remember, the Good Samaritan was not only 'loving', he was prepared... to love well.  The Christian Emergency Network prepares individuals and churches to be ready, willing and able to love well, through operations of prayer-care-share in urgent/important situations.  So, for instance, during #Harvey, we will keep an eye open for diverse local Houston ministries that are learning to work together... toward the Great Commission/Commandment... and notably, aspiring to be ready when things are urgent/important.
    • @CityVOST - a team of (Christian) digital workerbees who serve to assist in urgent/important situations... by serving the most local, most collaborative set of Christian churches & ministries who are glorifying God together by demonstrating the Good News, as they attend to emergency/disaster situations.  Thus they too will be looking to identify and serve the most local, most collaborative set of ministries dealing with #Harvey.  Assist how?
      • Assist by maintaining this Houston wiki-knowledge-base.
      • Assist by listening/monitoringcurating social-media.
      • Assist in helping connect key response ministries.
      • Assist by mapping key locations by Christian response-groups, as known.
      • Assist by amplifying messaging by the joint collaborative response team.
    • SomebodyCares (Houston) - Currently the most collaborative ministry re emergencies/disasters.  Follow @DougStringer
    • @GCardona - actively engaged, consummately trained in emergency mgmt protocols.  Former #Indy police officer, and friend of @ReadyIndy
