"Transform Indiana"...

... is the networking initiative of Bible-believing Christians, city-by-city, neighborhood by neighborhood, throughout the state... with a goal of accelerating the (whole) Great Commission.

WHO?    Bible-believers -- Individuals, Church or Ministry Leaders, Business Men & Women, Educators... who are anxious to work TOGETHER to accelerate the Great Commission in our cities throughout the state.

WHAT?   Working hard... together... to re-connect the family of God, city by city, neighborhood by neighborhood.  Networking, networking, networking.

WHEN?    Visit the 'Indy Timeline' wiki-page to see how we fit into the overall calendar ahead.  We meet citywide monthly, to pray, learn from each other & coordinate.

  • Here's our LIVE AGENDA with details re our Annual Indy Timeline Planning Luncheon.

Also... Our behind-the-scenes admin-team meeting really is just another excuse to have coffee & prayer together *smile*.   Got ideas how to advance the Great Commission in Indy?  Want to help move things to the next level?  You'd be welcome.  Contact Eldon or Neil.

[This schedule SHOULD exactly match with our info on the 'Indy Timeline' for 2008.]

WHERE?   Wherever city-networks of Christians are found.  Generally we meet in Indianapolis, the capital.  But reach out to other city-networks around the state.  WHERE is a great question, because our strategy is to increasingly connect for impact, neighborhood by neighborhood.  Check out YOUR section of the metro Indy area... North, East, South, West, Urban.

WHY?    Because, let's be honest, the Whole Commission isn't getting done.  Barna Research reports that only 4% of American adults hold a 'biblical worldview'.  And it shows.  Despite 200 well-funded years of the American Experiment, our cities are hardly a 'light on a hill'.  Crime is at an all-time high.  Education is failing when compared worldwide.  American culture is a mess.  Sin isn't in anyone's vocabulary anymore.  Our churches all seem to be competing for mega status... irrespective of the community around them dying at a rate of 400 deaths a week.  And 96% would amount to 384 deaths 'between sermons'... without the benefit of fully grasping what the Bible has to offer.  Something has to be done.  And connecting driven Christians, city by city, neighborhood by neighborhood... for 'prayer, care & share'... seems to be a good place to start.  We understand there are 6,000 'neighborhoods' throughout Indiana's 6.0 million people.  Lord willing, we intend to find & connect the driven Christians in each.  And optimally share the Good News with every man, woman & child... through deed & Word.

HOW?   We tend to follow a 'Prayer-Care-Share-Dare' strategy.

Discussion Thread.... thoughts, ideas, stray links, etc... to consider as we move forward together...

  • Neil... Visit TransformIndiana.com -- current in a blog format; but we'll be converting to this wiki-format shortly.
  • Neil... Here's our collaborative AGENDA page -- everyone can help build the next meeting, whaddaya say?
  • Neil... Our Core Values.... (see our brochure)
  • Neil... Our Plan...  When you get right down to it, our "plan" is our scheduled actions.  At least here in the early going.  So let's continue focusing on scheduling/doing ACTIONS related to our goals.  Eg. if our goal is to fill the existing gap in the Church... city by city... then we can be intentional about scheduling (or helping bless other ministries') networking events... and intentionally sharpening our abilities to collaborate (at the speed of Light, say).
  • Neil... Statewide networking.... (if our scope is statewide city-clusters... then we need to find good ways to be intentional about prospering city-to-city connectivity, as well as just Indianapolis).
  •

* Certainly there are a great number of people around the state... that fit the above description of who we are and what we do -- we just haven't yet FOUND them all and connected 'em.  So if YOU'RE one of them, or represent a city-network of such folks... please feel free to weigh-in below, by adding YOUR name/link/city/whatever.  Ok?

  • Eldon Kibbey is our statewide moderator - resident in Indy, but travels the state.  [Hey call me, let's have coffee.]
  • Neil Cox is a key Indianapolis networker, and leads the 'DARE' component of
  • Merlin Gonzales leads the Indianapolis "Faith Hope & Love" hands-on ministry.
  • Brad Bush -- TEAMM, Lafayette
  • Dan Taylor -- Trinity Mission, Layfayette & Crawfordsville
  • George Saunders -- Muncie
  • Cal Kaufman -- Elkhart / South Bend

"We Tweet for FOOD" discussion... for 4/14 implementation, to heighten the impact of 4/17 Transform Indiana meeting at the FOOD ministry near Lafayette Square...

  • In other words, use this 'stunt-time' effectively for raising CANS OF FOOD and the FOOD issue awareness...
  • In fact, try to actually RAISE cans of food that afternoon, by effectively making it a drop-off center.
  • Tweet it, Facebook it, email, blog, podcast, vid-cast, whatever it takes to get all your ministry friends to bring cans of FOOD that day.
  • Make friends among the homeless there.
  • Play on the "FEED" word... (and btw, Feeds are the mini-training-item at the 4/17 TI meeting.)
  • Homeless folks who'll benefit from any cans of food we raise on 4/14... may be the very ones hanging out at the circle on 4/14.
  • Could get us some media coverage as well.
  • If we gel an idea quickly, we still might be able to mobilize some of our Christian FOOD ministry folks for the 4/14 stunt -- not to mention, empassioning them for the 4/17 TI meeting discussion re FOOD.
  • We'll be meeting this Thursday, 4/10, 3pm at Paradise Bakery (96th x Meridian) to do our normal planning discussion... if any of you want to quickly join us.
  • Slogans, anyone?
  • "We Tweet for Food"
  • "Feeds for the Hungry"
  • "Tweet Others As You'd Like To Be Tweeted"
  • Try to get all our Facebookers to carry the meme, too... via their status updates.
  • Advertise the 4/17 TI meeting as the place for Indy ministries to come together to discuss the FOOD issue, and their responsibility in it.
  • Cans of Pennies for Cans of Food !   Have folks bring (empty) food-cans full of pennies (or whatever amount of change). Remember, these food ministries can typically buy food from Gleaners for pennies per pound, as I understand it.  So a can of pennies would be a LOT of cans of food.  [Where'd I get a similar idea?  'Power of a Pennie' was a great idea and I'm an advocate for them... but they just haven't yet capitalized on it because they didn't actually get the jars of pennies to a drop-off point.]
  • Pitchin' Pennies... LOL... wonder how much trouble we'd get into, by holding up signs for people to pitch pennies from their cars... and we'd catch 'em in our umbrellas... and collect 'em in cans... LOLLLLLLLLLLL
