Operation Timothy.... Discussion behind the scenes...

We may not use this page much, or for long... but let's list a few changes to keep in mind as we think about how we might propose some changes to the OT booklets...

  • More intentionally DIVERSE... ie, appeal to men throughout the city -- not just suburban.  And let's be thinking about urban 'businessmen'.  And what if one of the very problems of the inner-city is a lack of 'businessmen'.  Are they to be 'left behind'???  CBMC can help change the world by rethinking how we might change our training approach.
  • More citywide Church thinking..  Connecting is important.
  • More neighborhood Church tinking.  Isn't that the consummate model for the Great Commission.... house to house, block to block, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city, state by state...
  • More innovative thinking/training.  This IS the 21st Century.  And the next generation is bypassing the 'old guard'... ie, "command and control" model.   We need to adapt our training so as to be more biblical... and more effective in the paradigm in which we live.
  • Let's refrain from 'insulting guys intelligence'...  by having them 'color-in' pictures, etc. -- Just kidding, but making a point here.... Especially Book 1 currently asks grown men to read a paragraph and draw lines to match answers.  That's childs-play.   Or they ask us to read a paragraph and regurgitate it in the blanks below.  Again, childs play.  At least in Book 2 they make you look up the answer in the Bible (before regurgitating it in the blanks below).
  • Link all passages to Bible Gateway references so our guys can just click to the verses.  (Exception... we need to somehow ensure that our Tims can look things up the good-ol-fashioned way.)
