Demobilization phase of any emergency is vitally important even as it leverages experience gained during the current incident.   This important function is assigned to the Demobilization Unit within the Planning Section.  One very key consideration is WHEN to begin winding down the current operation.  What does the Long-Term Recovery Plan look like, and to what degree is ReadyIndy involved?

Once the demobilization phase is in motion, an 'After Action Review' by the team will be planned and conducted, to discuss what we did right, what we did wrong, and what we learned.

And importantly, demobilization also includes planning and communicating 'next steps'.

(Right now we'll use this page to spell-out next steps after any activation -- eg, after #ReadyCity2013...)

Remember the Sept 24, 2010 video-summary and 'next-steps'?  Do something similar?

(We are probably going to need our 9-county area subdivided shortly, with a contact for these people below, per county.)

(Dare we develop a "Count Me In!" postcard like Mike did last year?)

(As a part of the ReadyCity2013 process, we will be initiating the 'onboarding/credentialing process.  So this will automatically lead to yet more future life-long-learning steps... eg, training.)

  • Are you from out-of-town?  Set a specific day/time/location to meet again with your 'team'... Start building a team, build a plan, build partnerships to build your #ReadyCity.
  • Are you a pastor in Indy?  Set a specific day/time/location to meet with your church's potential 'team'... (minimum 5 key roles)... Invite Mike Boler to come help coach as you build a team, build a plan, build partnerships to become a ReadyChurch.  Btw, do you have a nearby church with whom you can build a collaborative/accountable relationship?  Commit to call them and get started.  Then, as a part of your church's timeline, schedule an 8-wk Bible-study to become ReadyChristian(s).  Free download online.
  • Are you an individual without a ReadyChurch to attend?  Set a specific day/time/location to meet with your pastor and share the concept:  Become a ReadyChurch by building a team (min 5 roles), build a plan (start outlining and eventually writing your church's Emergency Operating Procedures), and building nearby partnerships (with another church in your small community).
    • If your church isn't receptive to the concept (for now), mark your calendar for ___________ -- our next ReadyIndy monthly meeting.  Thus help strengthen the ReadyCity infrastructure here, even while you're waiting for your church to catch the vision.   And start your personal ReadyChristian training.  "Get a buddy and do the study."
