Special... CityReaching.TV episode as Compton 'Visits' Indianapolis

Birthing a New Compton
Compton. It's hard to find anyone in the world who has not heard at least something about Compton.
The word, "Compton" usually brings some negative image to mind; gangs, the birthplace of the blood (Piru) gang and it's thousands of affiliates, crime; for many years known as the murder capital of the US, the birthplace of gangsta rap, Compton is the home of NWA's Easy E (Eric Wright) known for their "Straight Outta Compton" album of 1988. Dr. Dre, The Game, Coolio and DJ Quik are other well-known rappers from Compton.
Drugs, drive-bys, corrupt politicians and horrible inner-city schools are often brought up in reference to Compton.
However... things are beginning to change!
In 2006 Compton Mayor, Eric J. Perrodin coined the phrase which turned into a clarion call for our community, "birthing a new Compton".
This is exactly what is happening in our city.
From local government to the school district, to local businesses and down to the front stoops all across our city, the pangs of rebirth are becoming more and more evident.
We invite you to join us in this historic effort to see a city transformed.
And when it happens the whole world will know.
